Charlottesville BJJ began at the beginning of 2006 in Richmond, VA. Head instructor, Gordon Emery is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and certified under Julio Fernandez. Mr. Fernandez is a sixth-degree black belt under Carlson Gracie, Sr. Mr. Fernandez has honored Gordon Emery with the opportunity to teach the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the Charlottesville area, under the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu United States Association (BJJUSA). Charlottesville BJJ is also an official school of the BJJ Revolution Team.
